A small, friendly hotel
The small, family-run hotel, is conveniently located in the centre of Traben-Trarbach, next to the town hall. All rooms have a shower or bathroom, toilet and telephone.
A local verse goes:
Tradition easy to uphold
small, cosy, comfortable.
Friends of good food and drink
needn’t travel far but are
already long-time regular
at hotel and restaurant.
At the “Wamsch”,
as the “Goldene Traube” is called locally, you’ll feel right at home!
Popular restaurant with excellent food.
Famous for its exquisite half-pint and bottled wines
The “Goldene Traube” is a typical house of the Moselle region. In 1878, Richard Allmacher II was awarded the concession for the first 6 beds. The house was extended by the purchase of some neighbouring buildings, and in 1930 another storey was added, so that today 26 beds are available. All rooms have shower and WC along with self-dial telephones.
Spread over three floors we have a number of smaller, practically-furnished rooms for cyclists and ramblers (U.S.: hikers). as well as larger rooms for those guests who are staying longer and want to spread out.
Furnishings are partly modern, partly traditional with turn-of-the-century solid-oak furniture.
The beds all have orthopaedic support boards under the coil-spring mattresses.
Most important of all, however, is the warm atmosphere of the hotel. This manifests itself in the fact that you can be sure of getting your breakfast, no matter at what time you choose to get up - buffet-style until 11 a.m., after that, a la carte - so you can always be sure of getting a full night’s sleep, even if you didn’t get to bed until the small hours of the night.
